The rice straw and clay used for building this beautiful straw bale home were sourced from the family's farm.

The house measures 250 m² and has 1.8 metre wide wrap around verandas to protect the strawbale walls.

This strawbale family home has been built on a concrete slab. Some floor areas have been tiled in accordance to gain thermal mass.


The Entrance.	A comfortable family home blending in well with some of the typical colours - ochre earth and silver green gums - of the Australian Bush.


The back door and two little round toilet windows	Clay has been used to render all strawbale walls.

The deep window seat and niche are typical creative details of a strawbale home.


Main bathroom. Even the strawbale walls in the bathrooms have been finished with clay render. Only the areas constantly splashed with water are tiled.	Clay rendered ensuite
